Installation Requirements
- Before you install Electronic Shipping Tools (EST):
- To install Electronic Shipping Tools (EST) Desktop version on your hard drive:
- You can install Electronic Shipping Tools directly from the Canada Post Web site and simply follow the instructions presented on the screen.
- Once you have successfully installed the application from the Website into the appropriate drive on your computer, double click on Install EST and simply follow the instructions presented on the screen
- From here, you will be directed through the various installation windows that result in the creation of an icon on your desktop. After double clicking on the self-extracting Install EST, the standard Installation Wizard windows will guide you through the process of loading the software on your computer. Follow these steps:
- Select the language to use for installation
- Load the software (application and the database) on your local drive
- Select from the configuration window the more suitable option to install the application. From a Single Workstation to a Client Component of a Multi-user or to a Server Component of a Multi-user.
- Select the Installation folder where the application will reside on the computer hard drive.
- After a Pre-Installation summary window, the Install complete window will be displayed.
- Configuration Wizard will guide through the configuration process (printer, scale and output configuration). The configuration process allows you to either select an Express or a Custom Set-up based on your needs. The following steps apply to both set-up unless specified :
- Configure Proxy Server (Custom Set-up Only)
- Connect to the Canada Post server
- Download site data from Canada Post
- Configure your site preferences (Custom Set-up Only)
- Configure the printer (s) accessible from your workstation
- Configure a scale (Custom Set-up Only).
