Supported Web Browsers

Our website has been online for over thirteen years. As a result, different parts of the site supported web browsers and web browser versions. 

Please refer to the table below for a list of supported web browsers for different sections of the Canada Post website.

How do I check which Browser I am using?

To see what Browser version you are using, click the Help tab located at the top of your Internet Browser window.

Adobe Flash Plug-in

Our site uses Adobe Flash technology for delivering rich media content, and an interactive, multi-media online experience. Although the website is fully functional for web browsers without the Flash Plug-In, in order to take advantage of this quick and engaging technology, your web browser needs to have the Flash Player plug-in installed.

Flash is a free program downloadable from the Adobe website.

Our site uses Adobe technology for delivering rich content in a portable document format. In order to view or download this type of document, you need to install the Adobe Reader.

JavaScript

Our website uses JavaScript to enhance navigation and provide interactive pages. Currently all of our Online Tools require JavaScript.

What do I need to do?

Ensure that JavaScript is enabled in your web browser. If your web browser does not support JavaScript or you have disabled JavaScript, please try our Basic Site.

A cookie is a small text file placed on your web browser by a web server. It acts essentially as an identification card as it is unique to you, and can only be read by the web server that gave it to you

Session Cookies

Our website uses session cookies to improve site navigation and to enhance your online experience by maintaining information from page to page within these applications. Session cookies are automatically deleted from your computer when you close your browser session.

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies allow you to maintain your logged in status while using our site; and help us customize your online experience by remembering key bits of information such as which official language you prefer when using. For example, the next time you access our website, we will automatically display the site in the language you last chose. (You can easily revert to the alternative language using the navigational tools or resetting your cookies).

Bookmarks & Favourites

‘Bookmarks’ and ‘favourites’ are a way of saving an address of a specific page so that you can return to it quickly, without having to retype the address. Whether you are using Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Netscape Navigator the procedure is similar. Learn more

To bookmark and save a page to your ‘favourites’, click on the ‘Bookmarks’ or ‘favourites’ menu at the top of your browser and select ‘Add’. At this point you are given the option to rename the page to something more descriptive. When you later access the ‘Bookmark’ or ‘favourites’ menu again, you will notice that the page you saved appears at the bottom of the list. To access the page, just select the title by highlighting it with the mouse and clicking it.

Optionally, right-click the mouse on the page you want to keep and select ‘Add Bookmark’ or ‘Add to favourites’ from the pop-out menu.
