In Top 100 Two Years in a Row

Great news! Canada Post is again being recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers

October 15, 2007 - As you’ll recall, this is the second year in a row that we’ve been in the Top 100, last year being the first time we participated. This year Canada Post was chosen out of more than 10,000 Canadiancompanies invited to apply. This was after Mediacorp, the company that chooses the Top 100, reviewed recruitment histories of more than 55,000 Canadian employers before deciding what companies to invite.

The full list of Canada’s Top 100 employers will be featured in Maclean’s Magazine (October) and in Canwest newspapers across the country, including the Ottawa Citizen – which will take note of the fact we have also been chosen as one of the National Capital Region’s Top 20 Employers. We will also be profiled on the Canada’s Top 100 Employers website.

“Being in the Top 100 puts us in a much-envied position as an employer of choice, and we shouldn’t be surprised to be there” said president Moya Greene. “We have an excellent pension plan, competitive pay and benefits, an Employee Assistance Program, a growing employee discount program, and much more. We’re noted for our charitable giving and for our outreach efforts for the United Way, literacy, and now our new corporate cause of choice, Mental Health.

Just as important, we are witnessing an emerging new culture at Canada Post where our people take pride in their work and accomplishments. When everyone comes to work knowing that each one of us has a stake in this company and shares in Canada Post’s success, we’ll know we’ve turned the corner toward becoming the best employer in Canada. Making the Top 100 twice in two years shows that we’re well on our way.
